Abandoned houses in decay automatically provoke a nostalgic response, particularly when they're set in a lonely landscape. Published in an oversized format (12.25x12.25"), this collection of excellent photos by the architectural photographer Vanden Brink certainly convey a feeling of loneliness, whether it's deserted homes or similarly abandoned grain elevators, storefronts, and even the Air Force plutonium storage vaults in Limestone, Maine.
