Acknowledging that everybody has a spiritual component, they examine the theoretical foundations of spiritually oriented psychotherapy and some contemporary thought on cognitive-behavioral, psychoanalytic, humanistic, transpersonal-integrative, forgiveness-reconciliation, and theistic approaches to spirituality within the framework of therapy.
