This text is the result of two decades of research by retired physician Cherry, who worked to track down as many examples as he could of the headpots from Mississippi Indian culture, by now spread in collections across the country. Here, he displays and catalogs the 138 headpots and pieces of many more that he found, discussing what is known about the artifacts, which were produced by two groups sometimes called the Casqui and Pacaha between 1400-1700 AD.
