Drawing on his 40 years in the service and support industry management, and on recent changes resulting, among other factors, from environmental laws about disposing of products, Blumberg introduces the management, coordination, and control of dealing with products after the end of the traditional direct supply chain, such as those that can be repaired or reused, are obsolete but still have value, or have been recalled. He considers the business aspects, the market for closed loop supply chains and reverse logistics services, consumer goods, depot repair, and secondary markets and the final disposal of returned products.
