Hydrometallurgy is a field of chemical technology concerned with the production of metals from their ores and secondary sources. This book is derived from lectures on the principles upon which hydrometallurgical processes are based, given as part of the undergraduate and graduate courses in hydrometallurgy which the author taught at Imperial College from 1961 until his retirement in 1988. The book deals with the application of modern experimental methods and chemical science to the development of hydrometallurgical processes.
