Kellow (government, U. of Tasmania) focuses on a unique and little-studied form of corruption, when science is led astray by political attachment to noble causes. Although Kellow remains as objective as one can be, considering the topic, he also points out the flaws in logic in such political/scientific issues. For example, he reveals how the reliance of such disciplines as environmental science on mathematical models, combined with the emotional impact of the noble cause, has made researchers more reliant on virtual data than observational data. His chapter on the attacks on Lomberg's The Skeptical Environmentalist is particularly interesting, as it shows how well-meaning people with an agenda can reduce the quality of real science.
