By the end of 2006, Congress had preserved more than 700 wilderness areas, representing almost 5 percent of all the land in the United States. Our Wilderness addresses the environmental, educational, economical, and spiritual reasons why wilderness is so important to Americans, and reminds us why we need to protect our lands for future generations.
