A catalog and series of essays to accompany an exhibition of watercolor replicas of the frescoes from the Villa that F. W. Kelsey commissioned Maria Barossa to paint shortly after the initial discovery at Pompeii. They explore the role of women in ancient Rome in both the domestic and religious spheres, and highlight the dynamic role art can play in society. The exhibit showed at the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology and The University of Michigan Museum of Art from October to November 2000. There is no index.
