Larson (no credentials provided) compiles 11 research articles addressing studies in the educational psychology topics of cognition and learning, individual differences, and motivation. A number of articles deal with dyslexia, relating it, for example, to reading fluency, phonology, coping in school, and the "reading disability" stigmatization. Other topics include: individual differences in attitude towards school and social reputation among peers, cultural influences on the learning of science through an African study, cognitive load theory and instructional design, and non-linear dynamic modeling of microdevelopmental processes of students' conceptual change in science. Chapters are well-referenced and written by scholars from a diverse collection of institutions worldwide, but there is evidence of shoddy translation and editing and an awkward preface, typical of the publisher.
