Reprints 21 papers previously published in the International journal of electronic government research by IGI Publishing during 2008. The researchers discuss e-government as it pertains to national security and defense in the U.S., analyze e-governance practices and trends in 12 European cities, and explore the institutional opportunities and challenges of adopting wireless communications for mobile government at the local level. Case studies from developing counties evaluate the effects of institutional arrangements on the enacted technology in Mexico, the effectiveness of an internet service network project in rural India, and the performance of e-government citizen service centers.
