Outdoors enthusiast Romano lives in northwest Washington State and is the author of several books and magazine articles on hiking, running, kayaking, and cycling; Seattle-based Bauer is a professional freelance photographer specializing in the natural and local history of the Pacific NW. They combine their love of the outdoors in creating a guide to 125 day hikes in the Central Cascades and Whidbey Island, ranging from short walks close to population centers to day-long hikes into wilderness areas.
