Underwritten by a grant awarded to the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, a four-volume series of books has been published to offer modern information about the chain of processing from tree to paper. Volume 3 of the four-volume series focuses on paper production--fundamental properties of fibers, surface chemistry, mechanisms of adsorption of polyelectrolytes, acid and alkaline sizing, fluid mechanical behavior of suspensions, and web forming, pressing, and drying in a modern paper machine, as well as calandering and coating.
