This guide to using the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model is aimed specifically at secondary teachers. The model, which uses sheltered instruction to provide English learners with access to grade-level content standards, is described through chapters on each of the eight components, which also contain lesson plans and activities for use with middle and high school students.
