After discussing the limitations of a text syllabus, she explains how and why visual representations enhance learning (through research from psychologists specializing in cognition and learning), how to design a graphic syllabus, charting an outcomes map, and how course organization is improved by showing gaps, sequencing errors, tangential topics, and lack of flow.
