Maier (Spanish, University of Alabama) and Dulfano, a scholar on Spain in the European Union, provide an orientation to the woman-centered view of Latin American testimonial narrative by analyzing the critical and theoretical debate on the subject and examining the work of 19th- and 20th-century Latin American women's testimonial texts. In addition to essays by contributors in Spanish, women's studies, and Latin American culture, the book includes selections from two testimonial works by Argentine women. There is no subject index.
