Three researchers from the Social Work Research and Development Unit at the U. of York analyze the outcomes of a large-scale study of foster children in the UK. Drawing extensively on the views of foster children themselves, the authors examine the reasons why children remain fostered or move to different settings, such as adoption or independent living.
