Sociologists and other social scientists who work among clinical researchers, clinicians, and bench scientists in health care settings offer advice and warning for people who are called on to commission, conduct, or use qualitative health research. They provide examples of qualitative research in specific health care settings, introduce the fundamentals of the method, and describe innovations in its theory and practice.
