The opening chapter in this collection introduces the new field of arts biomechanics and efforts to apply movement science technologies to the creation of music, dance, and visual arts. Two papers review what is known about the biomechanical properties of the human cornea and the numerical modeling of ocular biomechanics. Other topics of the 15 papers include the bone-oral implant interface, the diabetic gastrointestinal tract, bone cell adhesion onto orthopedic implants, external pelvic fixation during lumbar muscle resistance exercise, and pressure sensors for running shoe fit measurement.
