Burkhardt et al. (libraries, U. of Rhode Island) put together a workbook of 50 exercises that teach college students how to find quality information using electronic sources. Exercises are based on Association of College and Research Libraries standards and relate to finding information, the research process, evaluating sources, intellectual property, plagiarism, privacy, books and catalogs, periodicals and databases, scholarly research on the Internet, and assessment. A concluding project applies these concepts. This edition has been updated to incorporate chapters on how new technology can be used in teaching information literacy, new and updated exercises, and contributions from colleagues who teach introduction to information literacy courses.
