The author is one of the key figures in the efforts, begun in the 1960s, of ethnomusicologists and blues enthusiasts to search the Mississippi Delta for the forgotten blues musicians who originally recorded in the 1920s and '30s. This anthology of his writings, much of it originally done for small blues magazines and liner notes of reissue albums, but also including some new work, presents a wealth of information available nowhere else.
