She is the acclaimed author of the novel Foreign Devil, the story collection American Visa, the poetry collection <I>Of Flesh & Spirit,</I> and the academic study <I>Aching for Beauty: Footbinding in China</I>. She lives in St. Paul, Minnesota and teaches at Macalester College.</p></DIV>
