The Yezidis are a minority group in the Middle East who has suffered injustices in their homeland for generations. There has been a fairly recent migration of their people to Europe, mainly Germany and the former Soviet Union. This preliminary study, headed by Kreyenbrock, is a transcription of interviews with the Yezidi who have settled in Germany and the former Soviet Union. The interviews are divided into two categories: the older generation or those who grew up in the homeland and the diaspora generation who have been heavily influenced by European culture. Due to the statistically insignificant number of interviewees (145), this volume is intended to lay the ground work for future studies into this ongoing paradigm shift.
