Aimed at policy-makers and prevention professionals, this text examines public health policy as it relates to gay bathhouses. The editors (both with the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies at U. of California-San Francisco) begin by describing the bathhouse environment, discussing how it differs from other public sex environments. Other contributions address such topics as the history of gay bathhouses, the legal aspects of their regulation, and the design of an HIV counseling and testing program for bathhouses in Seattle.
