Established in 1990, the Jensen-Miller Prize rewards outstanding scholarship on women's experiences in the North American West. The 13 prize-winning essays collected here address such topics as the sexual exploitation of Aboriginal women in British Columbia; women's reform work in gold rush San Francisco; and Navajo rug weavers and the tourist industry. Royalties from the sale of this volume will be used for future awards of the Jensen-Miller Prize and the Irene Ledesma Prize for graduate study.
