This is an analysis of the life and work of the influential German revolutionary socialist Rosa Luxemburg (1871-1919) written by her colleague, Paul Frölich, a co-founder with Luxemburg of the German Communist Party. In Frölich's own words: "To define and work out as clearly as possible the ideas of Rosa Luxemburg was the chief task which the author set for himself." He carries out this task within the context of her biography from childhood to death. This translation leans heavily on the 1940 translation by Edward Fitzgerald, but incorporates revisions and changes found in the third revised German Edition of Rosa Luxemburg.
