The textbook for practitioners and advanced students explains aspects of radiopharmacy such as physical principles, radiopharmaceutical chemistry, radiopharmacology, radiopharmaceutics, radiopharmacy practice, and techniques in research and development. The first three editions were published by Gordon and Breach Science Publishers, in 1990-99. The fourth incorporates such changes as the emergence of positron emission tomography and other new imaging technologies, changes in practice and regulation, and mergers between suppliers. Perhaps most important, however, is the recent global shortage of molybdenum-99, which has affected the supply of the most popular and versatile radionuclide, technetium-99m, for imaging studies.
