Swaziland being one of the few modern African states that can qualify as a nation, he is able to take the history back into early periods when the Swazi nation was being formed, providing information on kings and queens who ruled long before colonization, and basic characteristics and customs of the people. He also covers the colonial and modern periods with entries on secretaries and commissioners, missionaries and concession-hunters, places and events.
