Part of a collection of small art and design books from the Design Museum in London, this volume presents a collection of color photographs with accompanying essays and captions on designing a typeface. The work is divided into four main parts beginning with an introduction defining the form: a typeface, followed by a section on principles of typographic design and a section on the process, including discussions of historical typefaces from Gutenberg to the digital age. The fourth section of the work is a case study showcasing the work of Jonathan Barnbrook, including an interview with the well known typographer and a selection of his works.
