Based upon both modern understandings of Christian scripture, and a historical investigation of Ignatius of Antioch (ca. 110 C.E.) and his letters, Brown (scripture studies, Sacred Heart School of Theology, WI) focuses on Ignatius' attempts to explain his notion of Christ's death and resurrection.
