Minorities have historically viewed feminism as a white, middle-class movement. In this valuable contribution to the emerging field of indigenous feminism, Suzack (English and Aboriginal studies, U. of Toronto) and coeditors from universities in the Pacific Northwest introduce 13 original and three reprinted essays that explore indigenous-specific theoretical and activist issues per Native women's reflections, writings, legal rulings entailing race and gender issues, and the visual and performance arts.
