It is rare to find a study investigating the mutual influences between Italian and Low Country art. Alexander-Skipnes of the University of Stavanger, Norway, has gathered essays that note the interchange between Italian and Flemish artists between 1400 and 1600. Various media are included: oil, fresco, illumination, tapestry, sculpture and architecture. The authors demonstrate that artists from both regions learned from and gave to each other.
