Jackson (psychology at King's U. College, U. of Western Ontario, in London, Ontario, Canada) offers this review of the psychological nature of prejudice and its link with religious and political group mentalities. The author uses examples of inequality and privilege, such as in the deaf community for example, to observe the general psychological nature of prejudice. A series of social psychological theories are used to explain the occurance of prejudice including evolutionary explanations for why people are predisposed to form prejudice.
