In an alternate 1880 New York City nineteen-year-old socialite Sarah Stanton dreams of becoming one of the Paragons, the city's greatest team of gentlemen superheroes. She seizes an opportunity in tragedy when Dennis Darby, her mentor and leader of the Paragons, is murdered and she investigates the circumstances behind his death--only to discover a conspiracy among the heroes.
