Presented in four volumes, this is the new, updated revision of a comprehensive treatment of the law and practice of the Permanent Court of International Justice, written by Court expert Rosenne, first winner of the Hague Prize for International Law. He begins with discussion of the Court as one of the principal organs and the principal judicial organ of the United Nations and covers the diplomatic, political, and administrative aspects of the Court's affairs, along with a description of administrative and financial aspects. The next volume deals exclusively with the Court's contentious and advisory jurisdiction as it has developed over time. The Court's procedure and practice of litigation is the subject of the third volume. The final volume presents a collection of basic documents, including the Charter of the United Nations, the Statute of the Court, the Rules of the Court 1978-2005, the promulgated Practice Directoins, and the rules regarding the Trust Fund of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
