Whereas previous volumes have been dedicated to methodologies, paradigms, and sources; family, law, and politics; and family, body, sexuality, and health and the remaining volumes will treat practices, interpretations, and representations and provide a general index and supplementary material, this volume is concerned with economics, education, mobility, and space and other issues related to the material conditions facing Muslim women generally and non-Muslim women in Muslim majority societies. General editor Joseph (U. of California at Davis) and his associates present 263 entries covering 87 topics (including 15 overviews) within the broad headings of cities, development, economics, education, environment, information technologies, migration, poverty, slavery, space, and tourism. Each specific topic (e.g. "Migration: Refugee Women's Narratives," "Education: Women's Religious," or "Space: Domestic") is further broken down into country-specific or region-specific articles that follow the topical overview article.
