Editors Gaétane Jean-Marie and Brenda Lloyd-Jones (both affiliated with the U. of Oklahoma) have gathered contributions from academics involved with education, educational leadership and policy, social and behavioral sciences, communication and performing arts, and other fields. Following the previous (ninth) volume (also on women of color in higher education) in the Diversity in Higher Education series, this tenth volume focuses on sources and strategies for change, and, of course, obstacles. Chapters are arranged under the broad themes of promoting equity and the benefits of diversity, the roles of women faculty and administrators in transforming the culture, understanding unwritten rules and finding strategies for success, and transcending boundaries.
