This book offers a review of current psychological research on convictions of the innocent and also provides a direction for future research on the subject. Authors detail the parts played by suspects, investigators, eyewitnesses, and trial witnesses. They also address the pervasive problems that can lead to a wrongful conviction. Some specific topics include: at-risk populations under investigation and at trial, detecting deception, false confessions, fallible eyewitness memory and identification, race and racism, juries, and procedural justice evaluations in interrogations. The book is intended for a broad audience: researchers, expert witnesses, lawyers and judges, and policy makers.
