Chatterjea (biochemistry, Armed Forces Medical College, India) and Shinde (chemical pathology, SSR Medical College, Mauritius) have retained the main framework of the textbook, have changed little of the previous text, but have added new material. They have also replaced the chapter-end questions that were removed after the third edition. The textbook is for undergraduate medical students, and takes a clinical approach that could be useful in several specialties.
