Yair (genocide and contemporary Judaism, Open University of Israel and the Kibbutzim College of Education) has spent a couple of decades studying genocide and investigating the complexities of Jewish identity in Israel and Europe, and he has written extensively on the subject. In this presentation he explores the realities of Israeli politics, education, and demographics, and the conflicts and dilemmas of Jewish identity in connection with Israel, Zionism, history, the Holocaust, religion, and "the other"--that is, the Arab world. In his epilogue he offers a summary of his perspectives and proposals for an acceptance of multiple expressions of Jewish-Israeli identity.
