Author and Maine native Grenon tells the stories of Down East Maine's schooners, the tall-masted sailing ships so often associated with the region, its people, and its seascape. Unsurprisingly, the book also focuses on the strong relationship between the residents of coastal Maine and the sea--a relationship that continues today.
