In 1986 the author arrived in Sudan as a volunteer English teacher at the Islamic University. The experience took hold of him, and this narrative describes the people, the culture, and the countries (now two--North Sudan and South Sudan) as he has experienced them over the years. His color photos, shown full page, illustrate the travelogue. The initiative for the book arose after the author's exhibition at the British Council Syria. The format is horizontal (11x8.5").
