They cover global changes during and between different states of infection; adherence, colonization, and surface factors; toxins and associated virulence factor production; protein export and intracellular life within the host; stress response during infection; and emerging regulatory mechanism of special significance. Among specific topics are regulating virulence by iron in gram-positive bacteria, uropathogenic Escherichia coli virulence and gene regulation, anthrax and iron, the regulation of vesicle formation, and regulation in response to host-derived signaling molecules.
