This sixth edition reference for aerospace design engineers provides updates and changes that have occurred since the previous edition was published in 2003. Specifically, it is intended to help design engineers in the design planning and development stages. Topics include: mathematics, conversion factors, materials and specifications, section properties, structural and mechanical design, aircraft and helicopter design, and spacecraft and launch vehicle design. Information in the guide was taken primarily from design manuals and handbooks. Editors are the Design Guide Subcommittee of the AIAA Design Engineering Technical Committee, Dauwalter (retired consultant, Draper Laboratories), and Althof (Raytheon Company).
