Barnard (European Union law and employment law, Trinity College, Cambridge, UK) et al. help high school students and others in the UK decide whether law is the right area of study for them and what to expect when they start a degree. They explore what the law is, how it has developed in the UK, how judges interpret it, and introduce prospective students to the legal system, legal reasoning, critical thinking, and argument through seven cases related to the core areas of criminal, contract, tort, land, equity, constitutional, and European Union law, as well as relationships to broader debates, related decisions, and legislative developments.
