Finnin presents a revised version of her doctoral thesis on accessorial modes of liability under international criminal law, submitted to the U. of Melbourne in 2011. She catalogues the factual scenarios that have brought individuals before international courts and tribunals in order to develop a theory of participation in international crimes in the form of "elements" of accessorial modes of liability. She hopes the analysis will guide the International Criminal Court in its identification of those who have made substantial contribution to international crimes as accessories.
