The Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis, Tennessee houses the extraordinarily deep and broad Warda Stevens Stout Collection, assembled by Warda Stevens Stout from the late 1940s until her death in 1985. This volume contains the story of the collection as well as a history of 18th-century German porcelain in Meissen, Ansbach, Berlin, Frankenthal, Höchst, Nymphenburg, Thuringia, Vienna, and elsewhere. The volume is oversize (10x12"), and the text is illustrated with full-page plates. The catalogue of the collection identifies 414 pieces, shown with thumbnail photos. A bibliography and index complete this lavish presentation. Christina H. Nelson is an independent consultant with a long history of affiliations with the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities, the Henry Ford Museum, the Saint Louis Art Museum, and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
