This work gathers 12 articles by organizational scholars, most from the US. An intro section deals with benefits and dilemmas of applying organization and management theory to religious organizations. The rest of the book contains essays on studying religion and organization at the micro-level, religious organizational forms and practices, religion and institutional theory, and religion and social movements. Some specific topics are pastor practices in the era of mega-churches, Max Weber’s value spheres and institutional theory, the institutional complexity of religious mutual funds, interfaith social change, and organizations in the religious-environmental movement.
