Although evaluation procedures for health profession students have greatly improved over the past 40 years, they have not been fully implemented at universities around the world. These pieces seek to bring new ideas into practice and result in part from presentations at the 2010 Ottawa Conference on Evaluation in the Health Professions. Edited by McGaghie (medical education, Northwestern U.), the articles come from a variety of international contributors and seek to both construct worldwide standards and consider real differences in social and cultural contexts.
