Developed in 1979 by Milton Cox (Center for Enhancement of Learning, Teaching, and University Assessment at Miami University), Faculty Learning Communities (FLCs) have spread throughout the academic world. Yet connecting with other researchers and developing further teaching skills, along with staying connected with scholarly research, are perhaps most important at two-year colleges. Edited by two faculty members at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College, most of the submissions also come from Ohio faculty.
