The Hobbit book and films are filled with hobbits, elves, dwarves, wizards, trolls, goblins, orcs, wolves, ravens and of course, a dragon. This book covers the process of transforming the actors into actually looking like their characters with extensive behind-the-scenes photography, renderings, screen captures and movie stills of the finished characters and creatures from the movie.The stories of these transformations come directly from the artists and technicians who created them. Also contributing are the actors who had to become the characters, their motion coaches and performance capture coaches, and the casting department. All were interviewed extensively while filming was in process and the material, both the text and the images, is all new and never before published.The introduction to the book will be written by Andy Serkis who plays the all-important Gollum in the movies.
